Privacy

Short version: we keep your email address and little else. When you unsubscribe, we delete it.

What we collect

• When you sign up: your email address; optionally your category and country of chargeability; which page you signed up from; and when you signed up, confirmed and unsubscribed.
• Like almost every website, our server keeps a short technical log of requests (IP address, browser type, page address without the query string, so the private links in our emails are never logged). The one exception is a short number in the links of our outreach emails to law firms and staffing agencies (for example ?f=27). It tells us which of those emails a visit came from. The log is deleted automatically after 14 days. Our subscription service logs only a masked form of your address, like j***@gmail.com.
• To stop anyone from using our sign-up form to flood other people's inboxes, the subscription service counts confirmation emails per network for one hour. It keeps that count only in memory, never on disk.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you. The emails we send to subscribers are plain text, and we don't track opens or clicks in them.
• For a limited time we also use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use our pages: what they open, how far they scroll, what they tap. Clarity records those interactions and sets cookies: _clck and _clsk from our site, and CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID and SM from Microsoft. It hides what you type into forms, so your email address never reaches it. It doesn't run if you're in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, on this page, on the subscription pages, or on any address with a query string. We don't use it for advertising and haven't linked it to Microsoft Ads. Microsoft says it also uses the MUID cookie for advertising and site analytics.

Why

• We use your address only to send the monthly email and, if you chose a category and country, alerts about them.
• We use category and country only to choose which version of the email you get.
• We never sell, rent or share your address.

Who else handles it

• Resend sends our emails (servers in Ireland).
• Cloudflare delivers this website, protects it from abuse and counts page views; it sees your IP address to do that.
• Microsoft runs Clarity, described above.
• Our server is hosted by OVH in Virginia, USA.

How long we keep it

• We delete unconfirmed addresses after 30 days.
• When you unsubscribe, your address is deleted right away. We keep only an anonymous count.
• Backups are kept for up to 30 days.

Your choices

• Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
• To see or delete your data, or with any question, write to hello@mypathtocitizenship.com. We reply within 30 days.
